About Jennifer Coria, LMSW

jennifer I

earned my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University and my bachelor’s degree from Calvin University in Social Work. I am a native Spanish speaker and strongly believe in the value of incorporating culture and language to connect with my Spanish speaking clients. My background consists of working with various age groups in different settings, such as children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have experience working in schools, inpatient, and community-based agencies, all of which enhances my understanding of experiences my clients have. I have treated numerous diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, anger management, relationship issues, grief and loss, and racial identity. Treatment approaches I use are evidence based and have been proven to help with various mental health disorder. Some of the techniques I have been trained in are Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), PMTO, Strengths Based Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. My goal is to provide a nonjudgmental, multicultural, compassionate environment that will promote growth and change. I believe it is my privilege to walk alongside you and to hear your story. Together we will identify goals, increase your resiliency, and help you become the best version of yourself.
