About Jessica Weits, LMSW

Jessica I

earned my Master of Social Work from Wayne State University and my Bachelor of Social Work from Grand Valley State with a minor in Psychology. I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse population in a few different settings, ranging from home-based therapy to crisis intervention and trauma work. In my most recent roles, I provided therapy and advocacy to individuals and families with severe emotional disturbances, and emotional, domestic, and sexual trauma. Before that, I specialized working with adolescent females suffering from sexual and domestic abuse.  I utilize and am trained in various evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Strength-Based. I will incorporate mindfulness, expressive arts, and play therapy techniques. I believe each person carries their own unique story, deserving to be treated with the upmost empathetic, nonjudgmental, validated, and safe environment. Regardless of where your path has led you—or has yet to lead you—as your therapist I will meet you where you are and empower you to find your inner strength. I hope to provide you a comfortable and safe space to explore your wants and needs. Together, we will develop goals and a plan that is centered around you and your plans to move forward. I look forward to working with you on your healing journey.
