My education consists of a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kaplan University, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Cornerstone Theological Seminary. I hold my Limited Licensed Counselor license in the State of Michigan.
As an experienced clinician, my counseling competencies include, working with diverse populations, and various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, marital/relationship conflict, behavioral disorders, religious conflict, trauma, and self-harm/suicidal ideation. I am knowledgeable and confident in exercising a variety of therapeutic interventions and techniques, such as Acceptance and Commitment, Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Relaxation Therapy, Group Therapy for women, and specializing in Crisis Intervention (Self-Harm/Suicidal Ideation). In regard to treatment, my theoretical orientation encompasses the various processes of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This process seeks to change both dysfunctional thinking and maladaptive behaviors, while integrating and learning effective techniques towards a positive outcome.
My passion is to help others change the course of their lives for the better. My professionalism exudes dedication, genuineness, and a quality level of care, while assisting individuals to attain personal goals and development towards a healthy lifestyle. My goal is to provide a warm and welcoming environment where individuals can comfortably express themselves with the absence of judgement. It is my priority to ethically and respectfully provide quality counseling services to each individual, in a unique fashion.
