About Sarai Gamez, LLMSW

Sarai

I

hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Calvin College and a Master's degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. My professional background is rooted in a wide variety of social work experiences, all of which have shaped my approach to therapy. I've had the privilege of working with refugee and immigrant populations, providing case management and advocacy for those facing unique challenges. I've also worked in school settings, helping children and adolescents navigate academic, social, and emotional hurdles, and have spent time supporting victims of domestic violence through advocacy and therapy. As a Grand Rapids native, I'm especially passionate about serving my local community and supporting the diverse individuals and families that make up the fabric of West Michigan. I have particular experience working with children and teens, but I'm open and able to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.

My approach as a therapist is centered on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. The journey to mental wellness isn't always straightforward, but it begins with taking the first step-and seeking help is often the most courageous one. I strive to empower my clients, providing them with the tools, skills, and insight they need to navigate life's challenges and build healthier relationships with themselves and others. My goal is to meet each client where they are, offering compassion and support as they move towards their goals. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I'm here to walk alongside you as you work towards healing and wholeness.
